From San Francisco bathhouses to the border: is the Left Wing and the Obama administration politicizing yet another deadly disease...?
Hidden within a story on the first recorded death on American soil from the Mexican flu is the fact that the victim was the child of a Mexican family on a “visit” to Brownsville Texas. As of this writing, the media has not yet informed us of the details.
With an out-of-control Mexican civil war and violence spilling over the border, record levels of Mexican inspired kidnappings, drug murders, rape and mayhem, escalating levels of unemployment and American citizens looking for a job—and now a Mexican originated, world-wide, deadly plague—Mexico is clearly a failed state, richly deserving condemnation and international quarantine.
Europeans “get it.” This morning the French Health Minister called for a suspension of all flights from the European Union to
Mexico.
Yet this morning President Obama merely expressed “condolences” to the child’s family while administration officials promised to “closely monitor” the situation.
In other words, paralyzed by political correctness and left wing politics Obama continues to do nothing.
Even
Cuba
has done a better job in protecting their citizens: they stopped all flights to and from
Mexico
yesterday.
Obama’s “response,” or lack thereof, to an emerging international medical catastrophe reminds us of
San Francisco, the beginning of the AIDS pandemic, the hysteria of the Gay Community which adamantly refused to close the bath houses, and the politicization of what clearly was the emergence of a deadly disease.
Following what has become the Obama administration's maxim--"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste"--we can hear the left wing spin-meisters now:
"This tragedy is the fault of the American people! If the parents of this child were not worried about deportation, they would have sought medical help sooner and this contagion would not have spread!
“‘We need Amnesty NOW!’”
Al Garza
, the Vice President of the M.C.D.C., expresses a more commonsense viewpoint. “The real message of this crisis is: We have to stop the politicization of deadly disease,” he said. “The President has to wake up and protect our border NOW!”
“This morning I went on the Tucson Citizen’s website to read the Mexican Flu stories. And I was appalled by some of the comments made by editors, public officials and bloggers alike,” Garza said.
“‘Sidestep hysteria and xenophobia,’ the Tucson Citizen Editor advised. ‘Border Controls do not work. Travel restrictions do not work,’ Gregory Hartl World Health Organization spokesperson said.’ ‘Viruses don’t recognize borders,’ wrote Sierra.
“Well, if quarantines and restrictions in movement don’t work, don’t slow the advance of the disease, then Why have Mexican officials closed all public events in Mexico City, Why have Cuban officials banned all flights coming in from and going to Mexico, and Why are American officials closing schools,” Garza asked.
Before Americans begin to die in earnest, first by the dozens then by the hundreds and thousands, we may yet take a few brief moments to ponder our fate and reconsider the dubious "benefits" of thirty years of Open Border Policy and the politicization of deadly diseases.
So go ahead, do your “thing” Obama, you and the rest of the left wing. Tell us the truth. We Americans can handle the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so bring it on.
Tell us again, Mr. President: Why do we need Amnesty, How do Americans benefit from Open Border Policy and What will it take for you to close the border and stop politicizing yet another deadly disease? |
